Michaela Ersae serves as our Head Trainer and Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
Everyone imagines a certain type of relationship with their dog. Some are active, walking, running, participating in sports together. Others have visions of cuddles on the couch and hanging together in a more relaxed way. Maybe you even need a service support companion. But everyone desires a relationship where they have a happy, healthy and dedicated companion.
Sometimes that happens naturally, but most often, as in all relationships, there's a process. Most need at least some training and education to create the bond they envision. This is the part of your relationship that Michaela Ersae aspires to help you build.
With 18 years’ experience in the zoo/aquarium industry she decided to utilize her skills in an area she loved. While offering in-home dog training and working with hospitals and shelters she promoted a new kind of training which encourages a pain free, mutual and cooperative pathway. Michaela has training expertise in Basic Manners, Canine Good Citizen, Specialty Classes, Puppy Classes, Private Lessons as well as Service and Therapy Dog Training.
Learning how to motivate your dog without conflicts will help you produce a cooperative partnership through play. Learning and growing together will build a bond that will enrich both you and your dog for all the years of their life and yours.
Michaela is ready now to help you improve your relationship with your dog!
Jill Powell comes to us as our Training Services Coordinator and Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. She cannot remember a time when an animal was not a part of her life. She grew up in a family that always had animals ranging from dogs, cats, gerbils, hamsters and even horses. During her middle and high school years she trained and showed horses in her local 4-H Club.
Jill's love for animals especially dogs has been an integral part of her life. She currently is a Canines for Christ volunteer with Mollie, her therapy dog, and serves in the San Antonio area. Jill also competes in Dock Diving with Haley and Halo.
Her other love is working with people and helping them to succeed whether that’s in recovering from an injury, growing in their faith, learning a new skill, or modifying a behavior. She has held positions as an athletic trainer in a physical therapy clinic, a Christian Education Director at a local church, working with behavior students in a public school and most recently creating an online canine training academy that has now led her to Lone Star Pet Express.
Jill believes that relationship building is key!

Obi and I just completed the Basic Obedience class. The training techniques taught in this course are ALL positive reinforcement and effective. Highly Recommend Lone Star Pet Express.
I have a very energetic puppy and just finished the Basic Obedience course. I learned A LOT about building a strong bond with my dog, marking good behavior, and using strategies to continue training. She made a lot of progress....I'm so thankful!
