New Therapy Dog Seminar!
The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting new program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program is an incentive program for loving dog owners who want to take their puppies through a basic training class and earn the S.T.A.R. Puppy Ribbon through the American Kennel Club. This class is designed for dogs 12 months old and younger. The class last for six weeks.
Training classes teach you how to best communicate with your puppy. Organized training classes also provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs. In classes aimed at earning the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction, you’ll be able to get information on all of your puppy-raising questions including house training, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy training is a natural lead in to the AKC® Canine Good Citizen® Program.
From going to the park without having to worry, to stress-free meal times and carefree cuddles, there are countless reasons why your dog needs obedience training, no matter what their age.
Although it’s best to start when young, dogs of any age can learn a lot from obedience training. Perhaps one of the greatest benefits is that you will be able to easily manage your dog throughout everyday tasks. They will learn commands such as sit, down, stay, loose leash walking and so much more.
When dogs learn basic commands, they become less anxious and can learn to focus and engage with you which will build a bond that can last a life time.
The benefits are priceless and well worth the time! This class is designed for dogs over the age of one year and last for six weeks.
AKC Canine Good Citizen is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The AKC® Canine Good Citizen® Program offered by the American Kennel Club is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. This six week class will prepare you and your dog to pass the evaluation and be awarded your AKC Canine Good Citizen.
As you work with your dog to teach the Canine Good Citizen skills, you’ll discover the many benefits and joys of training. You’ll enhance your bond with your dog, and dogs with basic obedience training are a joy to live with—interacting well with other people and dogs and responding well to household routines.

AKC Community Canine is the third and most advanced level of the Canine Good Citizen Program. You must earn the Canine Good Citizen Title prior to participating in this six week class.
The AKC Community Canine testing level is all about responsible dog ownership and having a well-behaved dog in the community. Your role as a responsible dog owner begins the moment you decide to add a new dog or puppy to your family.
The goal of AKC Community Canine is to test the dog’s skills in a natural setting. For example, rather than the dog being tested in a ring, in AKC Community Canine, the “walks through a crowd” test item will involve the dog walking through a real crowd at an outdoor mall, on a busy sidewalk, at a training club or in a local park.
